Students will learn how to forge Damascus billets from a combination of 1084, 15N20 and wrought iron steels, before forging their own utility blade and belt buckle. The blade handle will be either twisted or wrapped with paracord.
This course covers basic blacksmithing techniques specific to knife-making along with explanations of simple metallurgy.

Pete Mattila, will be teaching with the assistance of the Waterside crew.

Minimum age for students is 15, under 18's need to be accompanied by an adult, also enrolled in the course.
